Mass Balance Surveys: measuring the recycling rate of UK magazines
The PPA has signed a voluntary Responsibility Deal that commits the industry to undertake a raft of initiatives over a five year period, including an assessment of UK magazine recycling rates. 360 ECO and Innventia Edge undertake extensive sampling at UK newsprint mills to determine magazine content to calculate recycling rates. The survey also enables PPA members to understand the time it takes before a magazine is returned for recycling and which magazine titles are recovered most!
